We are currently supporting a search for a Senior HR Strategy Manager / Project Manager within the e-commerce and internet services industry. Based in Tokyo, this pivotal leadership role is designed to drive global organization design, align HR strategy with group-wide corporate growth, and lead high-impact cross-functional initiatives across a massive ecosystem.
About the Role
Operating as a strategic HR leader within the e-commerce and internet services industry, you will sit at the center of global group decision-making to address complex organizational and human capital challenges. Positioned within the global HR supervisory function, you will act as a key driver for business transformation—translating overarching executive strategy into scalable HR models, executing high-stakes project management, and aligning diverse domestic and international business units to maximize organizational competitiveness.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Organization Design
- Formulate and implement high-level organizational and human resource strategies directly aligned with executive business objectives.
- Lead group-wide organization design and productivity initiatives to maximize business capability and operational agility.
- Drive long-term, company-wide workforce planning and oversee its execution across domestic and international business units.
Cross-Functional HR Project Management
- Spearhead end-to-end, large-scale HR transformation projects, defining scope, managing timelines, and driving key strategic deliverables.
- Direct cross-functional project teams and collaborate closely with corporate development and executive planning units on joint strategic programs.
- Facilitate seamless coordination across a broad network of global stakeholders and regional HR departments to ensure unified alignment.
Special Assignments & Executive Decision Support
- Execute high-priority special assignments directly for top management to address critical, urgent corporate challenges.
- Conduct deeply analytical problem-solving and provide decision-support frameworks to executive leadership for rapid, data-driven decision-making.
- Lead crisis management and ad-hoc task forces in response to evolving business demands.
Requirements
- Work Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience, including a proven track record in top-tier strategy/management consulting or leading large-scale corporate transformation projects within a global environment.
- Industry Background: Experience within the e-commerce and internet services industry, technology, or managing clients within high-growth digital ecosystems (prior specialized HR experience is preferred, but strong consulting project management capabilities are fully eligible).
- Languages: Business-level English (written and spoken) and Native/Fluent Japanese.
- Core Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, executive stakeholder management, high adaptability to change, strong problem-solving skills, and uncompromised ethical standards.
