Osaka, Osaka, Japan
Apply for this job

Our client is a global consumer health group with more than 50 years of history, operating in over 100 countries across FMCG and B2B industrial chemicals. A new leadership team is driving a full business transformation over the next five years and beyond.

This role owns talent acquisition and learning across the group’s entire Japan organisation — both the consumer and industrial businesses — covering mid-career and new graduate hiring. It is a build mandate: move TA from a traditional, administrative model to global-standard practice.

The role

Reporting to the HR Director Japan and leading a team of two.

  • Build the recruitment strategy for both the Consumer and Industrial business units
  • Transform TA from a traditional model to a global-standard COE approach, and lift direct sourcing to 70% of professional hires
  • Rebuild full-cycle recruitment across leadership, professional, technical and new graduate hiring
  • Own agency management, direct channel strategy, alumni networks and talent pipelining
  • Evaluate and build TA infrastructure, including RPO models and ATS
  • Create and execute a new employer branding strategy
  • Lead and monitor TA KPIs
  • Review and upgrade the learning and development offering, focused on people-manager capability and leadership development

What we are looking for

  • Around 10 years in talent acquisition at global companies, with genuine depth in direct sourcing
  • Experience across both professional/mid-career and new graduate recruitment
  • Team leadership experience, or a strong individual contributor ready to step up to leading a small team
  • Openness to taking on learning and development. Deep L&D expertise is not required; curiosity and learning agility are
  • Excellent Japanese and business-level English
  • Hands-on, and willing to lead by example
  • FMCG, manufacturing or B2B industrial exposure is an advantage
  • Employer branding, RPO or ATS implementation experience is an advantage

Location

Osaka. Hybrid working. Kansai-based candidates preferred and relocation is supported.

Candidates unable to relocate may be considered on the basis of 2–3 days per week in Osaka.
