Based in Tokyo and reporting directly to the CTO, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive the technical direction of high-throughput software platforms. You will guide an agile engineering team in integrating modern cloud architectures and advanced AI capabilities to transform global contract management.

You will lead a high-performing team of software engineers to build scalable, reliable, and secure contract-processing platforms utilized by major enterprise clients. Responsibilities

Agile Delivery & Engineering Management

• Lead the agile development lifecycle of core contract platforms, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of software features.
• Mentor, coach, and elevate a dedicated team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Standardize modern software engineering practices, code review processes, and release workflows across the engineering org.

Architectural Strategy & AI Integration

• Define, design, and implement resilient, scalable cloud architectures that support long-term system sustainability.
• Explore and integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies into core product offerings.
• Establish robust automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes to eliminate vulnerabilities and optimize code health.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Alignment

• Partner closely with Product Managers, executive stakeholders, and external clients to translate business goals into technical requirements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural tradeoffs effectively to non-technical business leaders.
• Align engineering velocity with strategic company roadmaps to drive continuous product value for top-tier enterprise customers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading development teams and executing complex projects.
• Background within the legal tech, enterprise SaaS, or software technology industries.
• Deep technical foundation in modern software architectures, cloud environments (AWS/GCP), and AI/NLP application integration.
• Strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and automated testing frameworks.
• Language proficiency: Native-level Japanese; Business-level English.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional stakeholder management abilities.
