Introduction

We are currently supporting a search for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Candidate with an emerging leader in the artificial intelligence and machine learning software industry. This executive position is designed for an entrepreneurial technology leader ready to shape the future of generative AI products. You will oversee end-to-end technical strategy, direct zero-to-one product engineering, and architect the foundational systems driving sustainable business expansion.

About the Role

Operating as the primary executive technology leader within the artificial intelligence and machine learning software industry, you will bridge high-level business vision with hands-on software engineering. Working in close alignment with executive leadership, product managers, and founders, you will define product roadmaps, select core technology stacks, and establish scalable systems from scratch. Beyond technical oversight, you will act as a key driver of product management, ensuring that engineering initiatives directly fuel enterprise growth, user acquisition, and long-term value creation.

Responsibilities

0-to-1 Product Development & Generative AI Innovation

• Drive end-to-end development of novel software products, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and cutting-edge generative AI technologies.
• Translate complex business requirements into high-performing, user-centric AI applications and scalable product features.
• Continuously evaluate emerging artificial intelligence frameworks and methodologies to maintain a competitive technological edge.

Architecture Design & Technology Strategy

• Architect resilient, scalable, and secure technical foundations to support rapid user growth and high-throughput data processing.
• Select, implement, and maintain modern full-stack technologies and data pipelines suited for LLM integration.
• Establish technical standards, code quality benchmarks, and robust engineering best practices across all development workflows.

Product Ownership & Business Growth

• Collaborate closely with founders and business stakeholders from a Product Manager (PdM) and Product Owner (PO) perspective.
• Align technical roadmaps directly with core business KPIs, market demand, and commercial monetization strategies.
• Design and execute long-term technology roadmaps that adapt to evolving market dynamics and scaling requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a full-stack software engineer with deep technical expertise in building complex, modern web applications.
• Demonstrated track record within the artificial intelligence and machine learning software industry or related technology sectors.
• Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and optimizing applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI APIs.
• Strong background in end-to-end architecture design, technology stack selection, and 0-to-1 product creation.
• Exposure to product management (PdM/PO duties) or new business development within a high-growth environment.
• Language proficiency: Native-level Japanese; Business-level English is a strong plus.
• Strategic vision, strong founder-mentality, and excellent cross-functional communication skills.
